Welcome to the wonderful world of Photoshop Elements. Using Photoshop Elements, we will start from the beginning. If you have never used Photoshop Elements, want a refresher course, or want to get a jump-start on this incredible software, this class is for you. You will need Photoshop Elements installed on your computer and have opened it to see that it works before you come to class.  No other experience necessary.

We will start from the beginning: Open and size a file; Bring an image or images to that file; Manipulate those images; Take a brief look at the tools in the tool bar and see how to use them; Bring in some backgrounds; Use text and whatever else we can get to in the time allowed. I will have some images for you to use, and printouts of the material covered in class.

With this information you will start right out with your images and put together a digital artwork that you can add to and print later.  By the end of this workshop you will easily use many parts of Photoshop Elements and be well on your way to be able to create your personal style in a digital format for your art journals, collage and mixed media art.  And don’t forget you can print images on all types of paper and cut them for use in collage pieces.

I will work on an overhead projector with Photoshop Elements 6, so you will be able to follow along and do the exercises with the images you have loaded on your computer.

Supply List:

• Laptop computer, Mac or PC with a cd drive that can write and read
• A mouse and mouse pad to make the work easier.
• Photoshop Elements loaded and working  (I will be working with Photoshop Elements 6, you may work in an earlier version, but earlier versions will not be exactly the same for the exercises.)
• Your images loaded or on a cd
• A CD to save your work
