Make a pop-up of a haunted house, giant’s castle, sailing boat and so much more. Some pop-ups can be made by using just scissors, but with a spot or two of glue you can make the kind of pop-up books you see in book stores. An exciting day of making a pop-up book by one of the UK’s leading paper engineers.
Supply List: --20 sheets copier paper (8 1/2 x 11) --20 sheets thicker paper than copier (e.g., 80 lb text, 60 lb cover or lighter—not card stock) and larger sheets – the size is not important, but should be around twice the size of an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet. Water color paper (90-140 lb) or good quality drawing paper sketch pad would be appropriate. --Craft knife --Sharp scissors --Pencil --12 inch steel ruler (or longer if you have one) --Glue stick and white glue (Elmers OK) --Self-healing cutting mat or card/board to cut on.
To enhance the class project, I would also suggest bringing: --A range of colored pens, pencils, collage-type materials (magazines, photographs, wrapping paper), colored or textured sheets of paper for decoration, and rubber stamps if you have them.
