In this fun exploration of translating plaster into three dimensional form students will learn plaster sculpture construction and armature as well as carving and shaping sculptural forms. Students will also learn to work with plaster and plaster-like products as well as recipes for creating textural effects and hardness in the plaster.
Various finishing and textural effects using paint, carving, sanding, and by incorporating paper ephemera and found objects will be explored in depth. Students will go home with a booklet of tips, techniques and general helpful hints for use at home.
