Grab hold of the seductive azure blue color of the ocean. Recreate the brilliant golds and crimsons of the hottest deserts. If you are swept away by color like I am, you will love this workshop. Learn a variety of different surface recipes, which you will be able to apply to future art projects. In this workshop you will experiment with the most basic of household products, then work you way up to dabbling with fancy patinas. Rust papers, patina copper, oxidize glass, and tarnish a variety of fun found objects. From metal to glass, to wood and paper, I will guide you through the curious process of altering and aging surfaces that will open up a WORLD of possibilities for you future work. This is a “techniques” class not a “finished project” or “kit” type of class. At the end of this workshop you will come away with many samples of alternative surfaces on a variety of objects that I supply for you- that you can incorporate into future projects. As an added bonus- I will include a detailed instruction booklet with photos! You will not go away empty handed! Supply List: * Your journal to take notes * Jewelry pliers * Small Hammer Optional: You are welcome to bring things from your treasured collections to alter (examples: plastic doll arm, old jewelry, fabric. etc.) Materials fee includes:  all of the chemicals and surfaces for you to experiment with.
