From a place within my heart, the gothic arch has always held a special meaning for me. Reminiscent of the cathedrals throughout the world, with arches stretching into the sky, this special pendants' shape will conjure up memories for some, dreams for others. Together, we will create our own meaningful collage under hand-cut gothic-arch-shaped glass and morph it into a one-of-a-kind necklace with additional charms and found objects. Students will learn how to collage for use under glass, the addition of 3-dimensional elements, shaping glass by hand, and different ways to attach the gothic piece to other charms and objects. Some will wear theirs proudly, others will hang them on the wall in a location worthy of such art. All will enjoy the process of collage and embellishment as well as learn the soldering techniques I have discovered to work the best. Each Gothic Arch Necklace will be unique, and at the end of the day, we will show them off to each other.
