Creating dreamy atmospheric veils of colored glazes with acrylic paints is a powerful technique. Colored glazes add depth, richness and mystery to backgrounds and provide endless possibilities that can be applied to many art works – from the tiniest ATCs to large paintings, collages and mixed media works. In this class, you will use just three basic acrylic colors and medium. We will begin by discussing the basics of composition. You will learn to mix many colors and build up deep rich values, trapping found papers and images between the layers of color on top of a lightly textured and patterned canvas. This playful day will also include some loosening up, drawing and composition exercises. You will go home with concepts and techniques that will be widely applicable in many forms of art.
