Do you love paper? Do you find yourself lingering in the paper aisles of your favorite art supply store? This is a class that will open up new areas for experimentation and enrich all of your paper arts projects. Spend the morning creating a lush array of personal decorative papers. You will create marbled papers in the Japanese manner using inks in a water bath. You will create patterns on plain or decorative papers using Japanese brush and ink techniques and experiment with floating washes and layers of inks to make colored papers with lovely gradations in color and value. You may bring stencils, inkpads. rubber stamps and collage items to further personalize your papers. After lunch, you’ll create a paper quilt using your beautiful papers and stitching. Threads and fibers, found or drawn images, rubber stamps, photos, charms, beads and other small items can be attached to finish off your quilt.
