Rules for Rags-to-Stitches: 1. Use recycled or reused fabrics whenever possible (yard-sale clothes, thrift-store sheets, sale socks...) 2. Use whatever color thread is in the machine. 3. Embrace imperfections in sewing and execution. 4. Don¹t plan things out. Let your intuition tell you which fabric/colors/ribbon to put down next. 5. It¹s square enough. In this class you will make a purse, a cuff bracelet, and a journal while following the above rules (and a little technical guidance from your teacher). Supply List: --Sewing machine --zipper foot, regular foot --two spools/colors of thread (cotton) --an old credit card for scraping paint --misc. fabric scraps (teacher will also provide a lot to work with) --two yards of 1.5¹ - 2² wide ribbon, any color you like --hand-sewing needle --scissors
