Learn Zentangle(TM) basics and then go in-depth!
Zentangle is a relaxing form of meditation that uses pattern-making to focus your mind. No drawing experience necessary (Really!) It can be used for meditation, for art journaling, to learn to draw ... it is a great confidence booster too. There is no way to “mess up”!
In this workshop you’ll learn the basics plus more complex patterns, shading and how to achieve a 3-D effect. Also try out some techniques for using limited color and alternative tangling materials. And get some great ideas on how to incorporate Zentangle into your other artwork. We'll be tangling over transfers too. If students want to use personal photos, they can be emailed to the teacher ahead of time (optional). Warning: Zentangle can be highly-addictive! You will see patterns everywhere and store-bought papers and stamps will no longer satisfy your artistic soul. (You'll love it!)
Supplies Needed for Class:
*5.5" x 5.5” HandBook Journal (I will have some available for sale, if needed)
*ball-tip stylus (aka embossing tool)
*glue stick
*scissors
*InkTense colored pencils (or watercolor pencils if you already own them), small set
*Waterbrush
*pigment ink pad (raised foam pad) (any color/s you like)
*white pigment ink pad (ColorBox is good)
*paper towels
$20 Kit fee payable to the instructor includes: Printmaking materials, Sheer Heaven sheets, metal sheets, paper... all other supplies
Zentangle Kit (includes Pigma Micron pens, Zentangle “tiles”, pencil, etc.)
