H138 - Creating Hollow Forms in Color-Metal Jewelry

Build distinctive personal metal structures in a jewelry art form that is fabricated by hand and shaped using the forming block, dapping tools and anvil. Learn an array of new ideas and structures. Create colors enamel work and learn to layer and build height with tube rivets and rivets.

Enameling is a very ancient craft of permanently fusing glass to metal by means of heat. Recently, it is one of the most exciting ways to produce vibrant colors and imaginative patterns and images on metal.  Build at least two colorful hollow metal structures. Focus on Pendant format.

 

A $36 Kit fee payable to the instructor at the beginning of class includes: copper and bronze sheet metal, enamel glass, wire, silver wire, rivets, sand paper and expendables.

 

Please Bring- hammer, anvil, needle nose pliers, chain nose pliers, wire snips, tin snips, (or jewelers saw, blades and bench pin), vice, small file, optional- awl, center punch,  optional- any other metalworking tools .
