“I came across an amazing little doll’s arm and feel in love with its simple detail right from the start! I knew I would use it in a piece of jewelry but when I set out to design something wearable using this little hand, I was frustrated that I didn’t have three more. So instead of being frustrated, I decided to CLONE more of these little body parts! Now I have enough tiny hands to make as many wearable oddities as I can create in my secret laboratory”
In this class, students will learn and make their own push molds using quick set molding material. Clone your newly casted objects using a quick set Resin. Enjoy the use of an assortment of interesting molds that I have created for use in this workshop. Once you have made several casts, learn how to clean and refine your pieces using a sharp blade to remove all of the flashing.
When your clone is cleaned and ready, discover all the possibilities of surface alterations using a range of materials like enamels, metal paints, waxing pastes, and metal powders.
I will also demonstrate the additional techniques needed to create a two-part mold for advanced pieces. With all the techniques you learn in this class, you will be able to go home to your studio and create as many molds and clones as your heart desires!
