For years I have collected vintage photo albums.  Not just the pretty velvet Victorian albums but also the little booklet style albums with black pages and a shoe string tie holding it all together.  It is those latter little albums that we will be using to create a wonderful book filled with your collages and memories using collage, rubber stamping, words, vintage images, ribbon, buttons, other embellishments and sewing.  Don’t sew?  Don’t worry!  We are not going to be concerned with finished edges but rather the use of beautiful stitches to enhance our prepared collages.  In addition, I will show you how to create tape transfers and we will coffee stain some fabric in class as well.

*There will be several sewing machines in the classroom for everyone to use.

Kandoo Soap for cleaning your hands after class.

Supplies Needed for Class:

Vintage Photo Album

Fabric Scraps

Foam Brushes (1 inch)

White Gesso (can also use other colors in acrylics)

Liquid Nails in Tube (clear) – Sold at Lowe’s

UHU Glue Stick or your preferred glue stick

Micro-Glaze (http://www.microglaze.com/microglaze_ordering.htm#ORDERING)

PVC Glue for paper

Scissors

Rubber Stamps

ColorBox Fluid Chalk pads (A.C. Moore sells them or you can get them online at www.colorbox.com)

Ephemera – scrapbook papers, sewing patterns, etc.

Lace/Ribbon/Fabric Bits/Old Keys/Charms/Hardware (almost anything you enjoy embellishing with)

Ribbons, lace, fabric bits

Stayz On Ink Pads in Black and/or Timber Brown

Apron

Small Hand Towel

Number 10 Paintbrush – don’t spend a lot of money here, just a cheap brush

Images (if you have a special image you would like to use in a tape transfer be sure it is laser printed)

Small Alphabet Stamp Set (teacher will have one in class)

Remember that the onsite store will carry items as well.
