Experience new ground breaking ideas in the glass world.  Learn techniques for mold making, carving, and different glass variations in kiln casting.  Create, carve and cast objects in glass. Build two distinct molds, the first by casting a found object, the second is hand carved to create a unique structure to cast glass into. Experiment with layering of color and transparent glass for use with text.  Learn about the properties of glass, proper kiln use, tips on buying a glass kiln, safety tips and the technique of cleaning up your glass work.

Use these pieces to finish a piece of jewelry in combination with sterling silver and solder techniques.

Kit fee- $48.00 payable to the instructor includes- silver sheet, wire, solder, silver wire, necklace form, varity of glass, sheet metal, sandpaper, rivets, tubing, handout and expendables.

Supplies- Please bring: safety glasses, jewelers saw and blades, size 0 or 1,anvil, anvil pillow,  bench pin, metal file, awl, vice, needle nose and chain nose pliers, flush cutting wire snips, drill bits, stones

Optional- drill or flexible shaft, drill bits, extra wire, extra silver sheet metal
