I started art journaling because of my mother. She was fairly certain I'd end up as a French mime or cat psychic - anything that let me avoid math and wear excessive eyeliner, and I didn't want to prove her wrong. Sometime, beginning in adolescence, I realized that a composition notebook and the will to make honest, messy, beautiful things was the answer to it all. This class is like that. You'll write things you didn't mean to write and draw faces you didn't mean to draw. We will cover prompts, techniques, and creative tools - including watercolor, collage, ink and graphite. Expect a blend of guided exercises, quiet work time, and inspiring group sharing.
