This is an introduction to block printing on fabric. Using simple designs we will carve our stamps from an easy carve substrate using linocut techniques and tools. Then we will use fabric inks to print on canvas that you may use to create a pillow cover, tote bag, or whatever you can imagine. You will leave with all of your stamps and your printed fabric to take home and create an item of your choice. We will talk about patterns and repeats, along with carving safety to give you the confidence to create a block printed fabric of your own design. Beginner friendly. All skill levels welcome.
Materials Fee $25 paid at beginning of class includes:
Canvas fabric, fabric inks, 4”x6” easy carve substrate, sharpie markers, burnishers, brayers
