Acrylic Gessoes and mediums - originally designed for other uses, can be wonderful starts to an acrylic painting when you use their resist properties. In this process class, you will use these mediums to do make textures, stencil and stamp and to "age" your collages and more. This class will explore many aspects of acrylic mediums. Techniques learned in this class are great for paintings, altered books, book covers and collage papers. As time allows, students can build a painting or a small collage. Everyone will leave with a small portfolio of papers - ready for the next project!

Kit/Materials Fee $10  (payable to instructor at class time) includes:

All paints and mediums
Tools, stamps and stencils to share

Student should bring:

 Strathmore 300 watercolor paper tablet 9” x 12”
1” flat paint brush suitable for acrylics I like Golden Taklon brushes like Simply Simmons brushes
Any foam stamps or stencils that you might want to use (there will be many to share)
Water container for rinsing brushes
Styrofoam plate for palette
Paper Towels
