This class will be held at the Textiles West Innovation Lab. Rides will be arranged when you arrive and check in with the A&S Office

I have a fascination with things that are aged, showing the patina of time. I even have a collection (pile) of rusty stuff that my family refers to as the Rust Garden; A much better term than pile of rusty trash.
In this workshop we will explore how to create marks on fabric and paper using rusty treasures and perhaps some other gifts from nature.
$20 Supply fee payable to instructor at beginning of class includes:

Supplies to bring:
Fabrics: fabric-white and light colored prints, vintage linens, lace all work well. No more than 2-3 yards total

Needles-hand stitching (I prefer chenille needles) and favorite threads including normal sewing thread, floss and perle cotton.
Paper: papers that can handle some water such as cotton rag, watercolor, older book paper
Any rusty things you have on hand. If you are flying don’t worry about this. We will have plenty to share.

Many of the required supplies may be pre-ordered from Meininger. They will be ready and waiting for you to pick up when you arrive at the retreat. To order supplies, contact Meininger.
