This is a process class. If you want to be truly original – what better way to start than by making your own tools? In this class we will make our own stamps by gluing simple materials together. These materials will be in the form of shapes and marks that we can use to stamp into paints, etc. We will also cut and punch our own stencils to form borders and designs, and then we will alter small paint rollers to make even more marks! One of a kind brushes will be made and will become part of our repertoire for paintings and books. Then, we’ll take all of our new toys and use them to make decorative papers! These one-of-a-kind papers will be appropriate for later use in handmade books, scrapbooks, origami, cards, and collage.

Materials Fee $20 cash paid at beginning of class includes:

All Paints and Mediums
Cardboard, fun foam, string, etc for making stamps, brushes and rollers
Some punches for making stencils
Card stock for making stencils
Hole punches.
Extra rollers
 

Supplies Needed  to bring for Class:

Sponge brushes (2 or 3)
Water container (about the size of a 1 lb. Cottage cheese container)
Sketch Book 11 x 14 or larger. It should say that it can be used for wet media.
2” paint roller (from home depot or hardward store) with a couple of refills
4 – 6 yogurt containers (or something of similar size)
Palette Pad or Styrofoam plate for palette
Exacto or similar knife
Crafter’s ultimate glue
Scissors
