Thursday - March 14

[back to quicklinks]
$ 150

It is time to journey into the world of color with watercolor specialist, Jacqueline Newbold. Have you ever wondered why you sometimes get muddy color mixes? Jacqueline has sure-fired techniques to show how and why colors can become glowing and beautiful or quickly turn to an unwanted mix. This fun problem-solving class is the time to explore what works and what does not work with watercolor paintings. You will learn how to use the color wheel to mix colors, the importance of color temperature, which colors mix well together and why, and how to make a color mixing chart. With a deeper understanding of the relationships between colors, you will be painting with confidence as you will learn how to make color work for you. Your colorful studies will be done on Arches 140 lb. paper and can be bound into your very own 5” x 7” spiral wire book. Fitting easily into your supply bag, it will become an important color reference in your artistic journeys.

Materials fee $10  paid directly to instructor at beginning of class includes:

Watercolor paint samples, gouache, gesso, tape, alphabet rubber stamps, circle makers, brads
