$ 150

No drawing skill needed
If you’ve made abstract collages, you are ready to take mixed media to a new level. Learn to use torn and cut magazine pages to create striking, realistic portraits of your pet or other animal.  Learn to use recycled paper as if it is paint. Discover this wonderful way to wake up the sleeping artist within. Anyone who can rip paper can make this style of collage. The challenge is to see that collages are unique individual expressions, just like the artists are. You will explore the technical challenge of making realistic renderings from recycled materials. Bring your sense of humor to make these unusual and appealing pet portraits show some whimsy and character.

Supplies that students are responsible for bringing: An 8 x 10 image of a pet. Additional reference pictures will be available in class.
