Whether you are new to painting or have been at it for years, learn how to successfully use Venetian plaster and tools to create your abstract ponies. I will also show you tips for creating plaster layers, how to seal the work and more tips of working with plaster and acrylic. Venetian plaster has a luscious texture that you can mix acrylic paints into and then layer on with a palette knife. We will create some beautiful background textures on Ampersand panels for our ponies to frolic on, and then we will use free hand methods to layer texture with Venetian plaster to develop the pony. You may also create your own stencil to assist in painting your pony, and I will have templates that you can copy. We will also create a plaster piece on thin paper and then cut out the plaster pony and adhere it to the panel. Whichever style you choose, you will create some colorful equines and learn techniques for successfully working with Venetian plaster.
