P438 - Collaboration = Creative Expansion

Stephanie Lee
9:00 - 4:30
Friday - March 15

[back to quicklinks]
$ 150

Join Stephanie and your fellow workshop participants in creating a few large, collaborative paintings using DIY texture mediums that you will learn how to make and modify in the workshop as well as paper, paint, and other mark making materials.

The second half of the workshop day will consist of deconstructing + cutting these large paintings into individual paintings that can be finished individually using encaustic medium as a luminous finishing layer. And in the spirit of creative rule-bending, you will also learn adventurous detail techniques that can be generously applied over the top of the encaustic medium.

Each student will be able to take home at least one piece of organically shaped art though possibly more depending on how many workshop participants are in attendance.

*NOTE: One of the most important parts of the process of this course is in being willing to show up open-hearted and willing in creative collaboration and is essential for participation in this course. If you are unable to release creative control in the beginning process of art creation (for the first half of the day of the workshop) even with the promise of being able to finish your individual piece exactly how you want it during the second half of the workshop, this workshop is NOT for you.
