In this class you will be working with liquid watercolors on canvas.
The first day we will focus on creating textures and depth for our watercolors to flow in, around, and through. The results you get from liquid watercolors on canvas are pretty spectacular. This class focuses on layering, texture, movement, and openness to experimenting with mixing your art supplies to create incredible results.
You will learn how to create transparent layers that allow the viewer to see through the levels of your artwork. Your subsequent layers will be created using your choice of acrylic paints, charcoal, graphite, Inktense blocks and pencils, pastels, Neocolor ll, Stabilo Woody’s, colored pencils, glass beads, pumice, and mediums and gels.
I will help you create your own glass bead and pumice gel, as well as high flow acrylics
Class is structured for learning techniques and concepts that will give you the freedom to move forward in pursuing your own art. This is not a structured “follow the leader” style class, but a class that will give you foundational elements for creating your personal style. Classes include technique demonstrations as well as independent working time for you.
