Sometimes you just don’t want to solder a piece together and sometimes you can’t! what to do? Call on the mighty rivet and its hot side kick Tabs!
Let’s go crazy and demystify riveting. Students will learn the proper way to determine when and how to rivet. How to get a tight rivet and how to allow for some swinging parts. We will make samples and talk about the different tools available to help make beautiful rivets and clever tabs.
Leave class with lots of samples and some finished earrings and the knowledge to create some fun new designs for your jewelry.
Materials Fee $45 paid at beginning of class includes:
copper and silver sheet. Assortment of rivets and use of associated drills and equipment to finish the project.
Supplies Needed to bring for Class:
saw frame and 2/0 blades. Basic jewelry pliers, flat nose, chain nose, parallel round forming. Jewelry files #2 cut. Bench pin. Flush cut cutters. Steel bench block. Riveting hammer and /or chasing hammer.
