Treasure Book

$ 185

I love the various scraps of papers and fabrics I have saved from previous projects and I was inspired to make a book to hold them. It’s satisfying to use my little treasures to create pages and interesting ephemeral elements.
You will learn how to create your own scrumptious and thought provoking Treasure Book to feature your own favorite tidbits. You’ll enjoy choosing the pieces you’ll work with, and use collage, stitching and layering to build pages. You’ll create photo transfers on fabric, add vintage photographs that you will alter and use my instinctual method of stitching and a little weaving to embellish the pages and book cover. You will enjoy auditioning your pages and making decisions about how the papers and fabrics will relate to each other so you can arrange them in the order you choose. After binding the book, we’ll continue to add details, add an extra page or two and create a closure for our books.

Materials Fee $5 paid at beginning of class includes:

fabrics, vintage book pages, images for transfers, sari ribbon for the closures and anything else I can think of, plus the use any of my supplies
