Please note this project needs a sewing machine.  The venue will have a few loaner machines to share. You may bring your own if you live locally. Basic sewing machine skills required.

Create your own mixed-media fantasy figure using a birdcage as a base. Participants will be incorporating sculpting with paper clay, painting, and sewing skills. With over 4 decades of doll-making and mixed media experience, Miss Lulu will guide you through it all.


Materials Fee $25 paid at beginning of class includes:

Metal birdcage – 2 sizes available: 11” tall or 9” tall
Selection of fabric for head, torso, and arms in skin tones – but you are free to bring your own quilting weight woven cotton in the color or your choice
Paper clay
Gesso
Stuffing
Patterns for head, torso, arms
Use of specific tools

Supplies Needed  to bring for Class:

Fabrics and trims (lace, ribbons, silk flowers, etc) for your goddess’s clothing.
Beads and such if you want to make a necklace for your goddess
Sewing supplies: sewing machine thread, scissors
Yarns of other materials for hair or headdress
Painting supplies for face: brushes including a detail brush, water container, acrylic paints
If you are local you may want to bring your own sewing machine
