In this class you will make connections with the obvious and the unexpected. You will create a variety of pieces that will be sewn together to create a beautiful, organic wall hanging using fabric, fibres, paint, carved lino prints and natural elements. What kinds of connections can you make with your materials? How do they connect to your soul? To Mother Earth? What are the unexpected connections you’ve discovered in your journey through this project that may connect to your life’s journey? What are the metaphors that may arise as you create?
Through a series of open ended techniques, you will work at your own level to experiment and explore boundaries of your materials and how they can work and affect one another; you will create a variety of works that will be cut, torn, and stitched together as a unique wall collage.
You will be gently encouraged and guided to be curious and try new things as you assemble your elements to create a visually and kinesthetically stunning and soulful piece.
