Join me for some serious play time! First, we will create a motif that interests us. Then, we will push that motif and use it in many different iterations and incarnations--the "riffs." This is a class about design and story and also about the value of working in a series. We will end up with several small paintings that can be hung together or individually.
Supplies Needed to bring for Class:
Your art journal
9x12 Watercolor or mixed media paper pad, student grade is fine (I like Cason XL). We need lots of paper to play on!
Acrylic gesso
Acrylic paints
Marking tools like Scribble Sticks, Stabilo All pencils, etc.
Spray bottle with water
Paint brushes
Wipes/paper towels/water container to wash brushes
Gel medium
Your favorite stencils.
OPTIONAL Three to four small canvases or wood panels, if you want to create on a substrate other than paper. Or, you can skip the canvases/panels and just work on paper. Up to you.
Plain collage paper tissue or deli paper
scissors
