You know what I love most about creating artsy, abstract botanicals? They are easy and they always work! Join me for several different techniques to create botanicals from negative painting to printing to masking to contour drawing to collage.
Supplies Needed to bring for Class:
Your art journal
9x12 Watercolor or mixed media paper pad, student grade is fine (I like Cason XL). We need lots of paper to play on!
Acrylic gesso
Acrylic paints
Marking and drawing tools like Scribble Sticks, Stabilo All pencils, Neocolor IIs, Woody pencils, etc.
Spray bottle with water
Paint brushes
Wipes/paper towels/water container to wash brushes
Gel medium
Small gel plate
Your favorite stencils.
OPTIONAL One or two small canvases or wood panels, if you want to create on a substrate other than paper. Or, you can skip the canvases/panels and just work on paper. Up to you.
Plain collage paper tissue or deli paper
Scissors
