Gelli plates are not just for paper! In this hands-on class, you'll delve into the art of mono printing on fabric. You’ll transform ordinary fabric into extraordinary fabric. With simple adaptations of materials and techniques, Gelli plates offer a unique tool for crafting beautiful, one-of-a-kind fabrics that elevate your creative projects to new heights. Mono printing on fabric is a joyful process akin to unwrapping presents on Christmas morning. Each pull yields surprises! Throughout the class, you'll have the opportunity to create multiple series of fabrics in your preferred color schemes. You'll explore concepts such as negative and positive space, layering, and texture, gradually progressing from single pull prints to complex, multi-layered compositions. You’ll also master an easy registration technique, ensuring precise alignment and continuity across pulls. Additionally, you'll learn to enhance your mono prints using Derwent Inktense pencils and blocks, adding details and vibrant accents that further enhance your fabric. You’ll leave class with a treasure trove of bespoke fabrics, ready for future sewing, quilting, or crafting projects.
