Stitching adds texture, dimension, and a wonderful tactile quality to art pieces. In this workshop students will make a collage using old or new photos, book pages, found papers, fabric, and stitching. Embroidery and mending techniques will be taught and used as both function and embellishment in this workshop. A photo will be the focal point of your collage and it will be combined with paper ephemera, fabric scraps, "found words", mark making, and stitching to create a rich and textured story. The finished product can be a card, a page for an artist's book, or a masterpiece ready for framing!
