Color and texture are my thing! I’m going to show you how to create stunning, eye-catching artwork that will drop jaws! And you won’t have to break your budget to do it. In my class, you will create THREE canvases with three different techniques. To break it down, you will learn:
1. How to apply silk to a canvas.
2. How to create ‘folds, hills, and valleys’ using two different sculpting mixtures.
3. How to create texture with both purchased and found materials.
4. How to create flowers with clay.
5. Color, my way!
6. How to create layers of color
7. Adding color to 3D objects
8. Applying bling
9. Varnish and Sealing

Supplies to Bring to class
Silk- this could be a piece of recycled silk, such as a scarf or a piece of clothing that has been cut up. (Pattern and color do not matter as we will be using gesso and paint over the fabric.)
8 oz package of Creative Paper Clay
10 x 20 inch canvas, preferably gallery-wrapped and 1.5 inch deep
(2) 8 x 8 inch canvases
Paints- I use liquid watercolors, acrylic inks, fluid and soft bodied acrylics, and dry pigments. I prefer (and will teach using) metallic and iridescent paints. Use/bring what you have!
16 oz jar of Golden Light Molding Paste (it MUST be light and it can be Golden OR Liquitex)
8 oz jar of Golden Crackle Paste (I think this is the smallest size, but once you use it, you are gonna LOVE it!)
Brushes, spray bottle for water, water container, palette knives, paper towels and/or wet wipes, plastic placemat.
*if you like stones, rocks, crystals, beads, etc – you might want to bring a few to include in your pieces. The same goes for specific textures.
