A Travelers Journal

$ 170

I love the variety of ways that a travelers journal can be utilized, list making, drawing,art journaling and all in a cool and practical package. This version is made from a piece of primed painters canvas that we will be painting in the morning using mixed media techniques, stenciling, stamping and free-hand painting. Additionally we will be painting on heavy paper to create covers and papers for the single signatures note books that will fit into the journal. Additionally there are pockets and and elastic binding to be able to use to refill your Midori style journal with notebooks as you use them up.
I will bringing lots of stencils, stamps, and mark-making tools to play with but if you have your favorites you can bring those to use.

Materials Fee $25 paid at beginning of class includes:

Primed Canvas
Pre-cut paper for the cover and the pages for 4 single signatures notebooks
Grommets
Elastic
B & W copies, folders & other materials to paint on
Printed instructions

Scissors
UHU Glue stick
Acrylic paint: no heavy body, whatever colors you like, I would recommend at least the primary colors of primary Yellow, Magenta and Cyan (or turquoise) and Black and white.
Big and small paint brush or two, inexpensive brushes work the best for this class
Pencil and favorite drawing tools: I use crayola & Caran D'Ache crayons , china markers and POSCA pens, sharpies etc. (Don't go out and buy the Caran D’Ache crayons unless you think you might need them for another project, they are pricey)

Fabric fusion fabric tack or a sewing machine. I will bring one machine to share, there is not a lot of sewing.
