$ 170

There are times that you find such a special stone that is beautiful on the front and back and sometimes even the sides! You don’t want to cover it up with a traditional silver bezel setting, or a piece that can not be set in a traditional setting, a prong setting is the answer! This class will introduce the versatility of prong setting a stone.
Students need to be comfortable using a torch and soldering

Materials Fee $50 paid at beginning of class includes:

Sterling silver wire and argentium wire 1 ft each in the appropriate size for student stones.
Fuel for student torches, solder, flux and use of associated equipment. Extra wire will be available for purchase if needed.

Several stones to work with. Basic jewelry tools: Flush cutters, round nose, flat nose and chain nose pliers (smooth, no teeth). Butane torch (I will provide the fuel).
