I have lately been experimenting with creating translucency by embedding organic elements between two layers of paper ‘skins’. The result is a misty and mysterious collection of sealed treasures.

We will be forming an accordioned art book using watercolor paper, rice paper and a myriad of translucent products that will form windows of embedded natural elements, utilizing positive and negative space.

We will be inscribing our marks by burning holes through some the papers as we go along. Bamboo sticks will weave through hasp openings for a stand-alone art piece.

Materials Fee $ 20.00 paid to instructor at beginning of class includes:
Translucent papers (incl. rice paper, teabags, parchment, tissue and more), precut watercolor paper, burning implements, bamboo sticks, ties, wire, pliers to borrow, needle and thread, beads, stamps, embossing powder and ink, heat gun, extra organic elements if needed..
