India Ink Narrative

Anni Schwabe
9:00 - 4:30
Thursday March 17

[back to quicklinks]
$ 170

We will begin by making a gatefold book with closures. Using India Ink liquid and pens, we will create our own mark-making narrative onto two 72” x 3” strips. These strips will be attached into the gatefold side by side and will pull open in either direction when the book is unlocked.
This versatile, permanent ink will be used to pour, drip, spatter, doodle on and even etch into. In this class we will also be making our own Chops to stamp in red as our personal signatures.

Supply Fee- $30 payable to instructor at beginning of class includes:
Bottles of India inks in many colors, gatefold book substrate, book closures, watercolor paper, Chop making supplies/red ink, crackle paint, rice paper, bamboo sticks, dip pens, oil pastels, extras

Please bring to class:
Water spray bottle, tacky glue, a sharp stylus or awl, one black Pit India ink pen (more if you have them), white gel pen, soft paint brushes: flat 1”, flat ½ “, medium to large round watercolor, and any others you want, a dip pen if you have one, paper towels, water cups
