Cabinet Card Reinvented

$ 170

Most of us own one or two or (maybe 20) of those beautiful cabinet cards photos of unknown people from the past. I don’t know about you but I have been hoarding those “precious” photos waiting for just the right project. How about now for that project? Let bring those photos into this century. Using acrylic paints, gesso, walnut ink, and gold leaf we will embellish and reinvent those lovely people. We will be exploring how to alter an image while still honoring its original content. Using gesso as more than just a canvas preparation. Working with shapes and templates to create new compositions, and an introduction to the magic of gold leafing. You will leave class with at least one reinvented cabinet card relative. As an instructor, I embrace a light-hearted experimental attitude towards creativity that supports your individual vision.

Materials Fee $15 paid at beginning of class includes:

Metal leaf
Walnut ink
Stabilio pencils
Circle templates
