Silver Rings On My Fingers

This is a fun way to introduce yourself to the art of silversmith work! You can never have enough rings, so why not learn to make exactly what you love!
This class will teach you how to measure, cut, solder and form at least two rings. Learn the difference in sizing for different widths of stock and how to add simple decorative elements to make it your very own!
Student’s kit will include silver for two different widths of bands, there will be additional silver available for purchase.
Skill level: beginner

Materials Fee $50 paid at beginning of class includes:

Sterling silver for two rings, additional metal for optional addition to ring. I will provide for use in class; torch and fuel, solder, pickle and all equipment necessary for cleaning and polishing finished rings. Written instructions.

Supplies Needed  to bring for Class:

Jeweler’s pliers (no teeth) flat nose, chain nose, half-round/flat pliers (Otto Frei 146.618), half-round file med cut (#2), flush cut wire cutters, jewelers saw with 2/0 blades, bench pin with v slot and clamp (Otto Frei 113.361), rawhide or rubber mallet

Helpful tools ; nylon jaw ring bending pliers (otto Frei 146.362), steel ring mandrel with size markings. Value Line jig vise (Otto Frei 126.485 or 126.487), Optivisor or other vision help.
