The Nomad Book

$ 375

This workshop we will create a fabric book with 6 pages. These pages could stand on their own as original art. For the cover we will create an abstract dress. There will be much layering and stitching. Attention to the layout is very important and a big part of the creative process. Next we will create our own ephemera with collage, charcoal, gesso, pencil scribblings on top of vintage ledger paper. I will include a piece of plastered lace for one of the pages. I will show you how to create acrylic image transfer skins as the centerpiece of the front cover. Cold wax will be applied to one of the pages and we will stitch into it to create a very rich intriguing texture.

Materials Fee $40 paid at beginning of class includes:

6  pages, ruler binding, image transfers, lace, doily, dress pattern, resin paper, glassine paper and an awl
