In this mixed media class, students will start by learning transparent painting techniques using fluid acrylics. Pastels, metallic powders, leaf and foil will be added to the paintings to make them interesting and unique. Paintings will then be cut into strips, arranged and woven to form the basis of a multi-level collage. This unique technique makes every painting look great! If the student chooses, images and fibers may be combined either within the paintings or as an integral part of the final collage. Students will receive instructions for the painting techniques in course handouts with color photographs
