Joyous Songbirds: These colorful birds really do sing – or, more appropriately – ring. Inspired by traditional strands of fabric birds from India that grace doorways, windows, and verandas; these birds start as modified 9-Patch quilt blocks. The birds are given 3-D or appliqued embroidered wings and then strung singly or in tandem, to hang where they can be heard and appreciated. You will make one 6” bird in class but a pattern will be provided to make future birds in varying sizes.
Please be courteous to others by arriving for class with the correct supplies. Contact me at 503-631-8806 or helene.m.knott@gmail.com if you have any questions.
