Join me as we embrace abstract painting by riffing off of classic abstract compositions. We'll use tried-and-true layouts to start our paintings, and then will riff off the ideas and twist them in fun, artistic ways. This is a class that focuses on the "play" of art, and the "now what?" part of art.

Supplies Needed  to bring for Class:

Your art journal
9x12 Watercolor paper pad, student grade is fine (I like Cason XL). We need lots of paper to play on!
Acrylic gesso
Acrylic paints
Marking tools like Scribble Sticks, Stabilo All pencils, etc.
Spray bottle with water
Paint brushes
Wipes/paper towels/water container to wash brushes
Two or three small canvases or wood panels, whatever size you'd like to use for your final paintings. Or, you can skip the canvases/panels and just work on paper. Up to you.
Plain collage paper tissue or deli paper
