We will begin by covering and painting a gatefold book with closures. Using India Ink liquid and pens, we will create our own mark-making narrative onto two 72” x 3” strips. These strips will be attached into the gatefold side by side and will pull open in either direction when the book is unlocked.
This versatile, permanent ink will be used to pour, drip, spatter, doodle on and even etch into. In this class we will also be making two square Chops to stamp in red as our personal signatures
 

Supply Fee- $25 payable to instructor at beginning of class includes:
Bottles of India ink in many colors, gatefold book substrate, book closures, watercolor paper, Chop making supplies and holders, permanent red ink, embossing ink and powder, rubber stamps, rice paper, bamboo sticks, Washi tape, India ink pens, dip pens, extras

Please bring to class:
Liquid gel medium, white gesso, masking tape, tacky glue, a stylus or awl, white gel pen, paint brushes: flat 1”, flat ½”, medium to large round watercolor brush, a dip pen if you have one, paper towels, water spray bottle
Optional: small rubber stamps, an apron - India ink is permanent.
