Turn that pile of fabric scraps into an artistic and functional piece of art. These fabric vessels are perfect for holding your paint brushes, colored pencils and art tools. They also make for the perfect holiday gift handmade by You. In this easy and fun workshop, I take you through step-by-step in creating a handmade, one-of-a-kind vessel where you will incorporate different types of fabric and stitching (or embroidery). Then pull it together to create a beautiful vessel. (This technique can easily be adapted to different size molds).

Supplies Needed  to bring for Class:

*Keep a color scheme in mind as you are gathering your materials.

Variety of fabric pieces (or scraps) - can be eco dyed, tea dyed, sari ribbon, batik, lace, cotton quilting, linen, cheesecloth, etc. Variety of thicknesses.
2 empty plastic bottles measuring roughly 2” - 3” in diameter. Height should be a minimum of 4” Try to find a bottle with a curved bottom versus squared corners. (A good example is a small Mod Podge bottle).
Measuring tape
Embroidery floss or craft cord + embroidery needle
Aleene’s Temporary Fabric Glue Stick
Aleenes Quick Dry Tacky Glue
Decoupage, Mod Podge OR Matte Medium
Saran (or plastic) wrap
Acrylic paint (to go with your color scheme)
Paint brushes
Brushes for applying glue (variety of sizes)
Cup for water
Plastic plate for paints
(2) 5 x 7 in. 140 lb. watercolor paper
Sharp scissors that cuts fabric
Portable mini iron or Clover mini iron (optional)
Scotch tape
Colored pencil (for marking fabric)
Brayer
Non-stick surface, silicone mat or equivalent (optional)
Seed beads to decorate rim of vessel (optional)
