In this workshop, we’ll begin with wrapping a wooden frame with assorted fabrics. Then, we’ll add many layers of fibers and other objects, within, around and hanging from the frame. This is a great project for incorporating all kinds of pieces and parts you may already have on hand, such as fabric scraps, jewelry parts, shells, beads, unfinished project parts and other embellishments. You’ll learn how to create a variety of fun fiber parts, prior to adding them onto the main piece, using techniques such as coiling, wrapping, sewing, stuffing, twisting and knotting. These techniques allow for a layered, dimensional look that adds intrigue and beauty to your piece. The final piece will be your own unique and stunning creation to hang on the wall.
