Feathers, feathers, feathers! These fabric feathers are fun to make and fun to use. They are great for ‘Feathering Your Vest’; or feathering a purse, a mixed media assemblage or simply string them on a cord and wear as a necklace – you could even make a pair to make matching feather earrings. The feathers are a great way to up-cycle old denim jeans but are equally wonderful made from other fabrics – upholstery, canvas, linen… Brocades are particularly intriguing as they look nothing like you would expect from the original fabric. Once you learn the process, you can experiment with a variety of fabrics. Skill Level: Beginner and up Materials fee $5 paid directly to instructor at beginning of class includes: fabric, thread, center cording and templates.
