Collage Fabric Painting

Students will learn techniques to create their own custom designed fabric. Layering the applications of color, texture, design will be covered. Instruction will also be given on how to create foam stamps and using found objects for printing. The one of a kind designed fabric will then be used to create a no-sew wallet.

Students bring:

• 1 yd. cotton duck (canvas) fabric, washed and dried (no fabric softner) and pressed.
• Favorite assorted colors of acrylic paint (free flowing thin colors work best) ex. Jacquard Dye-na-flow, fluid acrylics, textile paints, plus black and white. Contact instructor with any questions.
• 1 small bottle fabric adhesive
• carpet tape (can be shared)
• Foam sheets (thick in black and white), one of each color
• Rubber stamps (some with writing ) and archival ink pad (black)
• Favorite mark making tools: examples, bottle caps (different sizes), credit (information removed) or too key card etc.
• Button
• embroidery needle and floss (cream color)

Supplies Needed for Class: Scissors, apron, cosmetic sponges, stencil brushes, dish for water,
