You have made a beautiful pendant, spent time to create a special chain, now what? This level of work deserves to be completed with a special clasp.to complete your custom art.

Students will have the opportunity to create 2 to 3 clasps depending on how quickly they work. Students will receive instructions for these clasps. Basic torch soldering, sawing and filing skills suggested.

Materials Fee $(to be determined) paid at beginning of class includes:

all consumables as needed,
a piece of copper and a piece of brass enough for several pieces
a piece of silver for one piece. 
If students wish to work with more silver they should bring their own for the projects.   A supply of Butane to refill student provided jeweler torch.

jeweler saw refill blades 2/0-3/0 blade.

Supplies Needed  to bring for Class:

Butane torch able to reach ±2500F (suggested: Amazon Butane Torch Kitchen Lighter, Culinary Torch Head and Iwatani BU-6 Cassette Feu Butane Fuel Canister for Butane Stove & Torch Refills
Metal Cookie sheet for hot work.
Soldering surface: i.e, solderite board or hard charcoal block.
Basic jewelry pliers, jewelers’ jewelry saw frame and blades 2/0 -3/0 blades
Bench pin to clamp onto table
Steel bench block
Tweezers & cross-lock insulated tweezers,Clamp on vise (4” to 5” is best)
Ball peen hammer, leather or plastic mallet
6”-8” file assortment and needle files
Suggested additional; VISUAL AIDS, MITER CUTTING VISE (Rio Grande #112700) Third Hand tool.
