Let’s relax and have a joyful day of stitching! This is a low-stress class in which I will guide you through color selection and easy stitches to make a lovely, tiny piece of art. Read the note in the supply list, please!
Supplies Needed to bring for Class:
*Note* - This is not a freehand machine stitching class using a sewing machine. It is a day of relaxed slow stitching by hand. I will teach you all my tips and tricks to make adorable little art pieces that are very easy to travel with. I have made a ton of them on airplanes! I will have a bunch of the freehand characters available for purchase if you wish (optional). I also have an online class if you want to make the little characters yourself at home before this event. These are tiny, about 2” or less to fit the small projects we will be making. Freehand Sewing with Sunny Carvalho | Create Arts Online
Also: I will have optional kits of batting and fabrics if you don’t want to source them elsewhere.Cotton quilt batting (just a small amount, we will work on pieces about 4” x 3”, bring a few)
Tiny pieces of cotton fabric. If you want to bring a small bag full, it’s fun to trade!
Embroidery Needles (sharp)
Embroidery Floss
Seed beads (My favorite size is 8/0. I don’t like dealing with beading needles. Make sure your needles will go through the beads) and any other beads you like.
Scissors (I like the Tim Holtz 7” for cutting fabric and a small embroidery scissors)
Optional: Beading mat (I found a tiny funnel beading tray at Hobby Lobby. It’s about 4” long and has a little beading mat inside. It fits easily in my travel sewing bag, I think it came with a larger one, as well. It’s in the isle with the beading tools)
