Let’s take a walk through a land of fun, interesting little beings made with your own hands! The examples in the photo are just the beginning. We will be making characters from our imaginations, from animals to vegetables with personalities and beyond! This will be a fun, low stress day filled with ideas and hopefully, a lot of laughter.

Supplies Needed  to bring for Class:

My supply lists are always a suggestion. I want you to know exactly what I used but you are welcome to use whatever you like.

Polymer Clay – my favorite is the Craft Smart brand from Michael’s in white. It seems to be easier to knead and easier on my hands. You will need at least 1.25 lbs (one large block). I buy mine in the 3 block package: 3.75lb. Oven-Bake Clay by Craft Smart® | Michaels
Liquid Polymer clay – I use Sculpey Bake and Bond
Sculpting Tool (s) – If you already have a favorite tool bring it. If not, my favorite tool (that I’ve been using for literally about 25 years!) is made by the sculptor Philippe Faraut. It is inexpensive and wonderful: 7" Clay Modeling Eye Tool - PCF Studios (philippefaraut.com)
Needle tool – if you don’t have one, bring a pack of needles and you can make one in class.
Ball Stylus – Here’s an inexpensive set with several sizes: Amazon.com: Longdex Embossing Stylus Set 5PCS 5 Size Double End Tracing Dotting Tool Stylus for Carbon Transfer Paper Mandala Rock Painting Pottery Clay Craft Embossing Art Nail Art
A few acrylic paints in colors you like – my favorites are the Paper Artsy Fresco Finish matte paints (you really only need a few of the lighter opaque colors. My favorites are Lake Wanaka, Blush, Chalk and Haystack), plus Golden Fluid acrylics in any colors you like: my favorites are Burnt Umber Light, Paynes Gray, Quinacridone Magenta, Teal, Titanium White and Pyrrole Red Light. If you have other brands, that’s fine. Bring what you want.
Liquitex Acrylic Ink – Transparent Burnt Umber
A few stencils with tiny designs (optional)
Brushes -I love the Princeton Snap Series, particularly the Filbert size 4, Round sizes 2 and 0
If you would like to design blocks for your creations to stand on (optional), bring the following:
Blocks (I buy vintage blocks on Ebay or Etsy in both the small and larger sizes)
Matte Medium/Gel Medium
Posca Paint pens: Black and White size PC-1MR and Black in size PC-3M
I will bring some fun antique papers to put on the sides

Optional: An idea journal. Any size or style that you like. I will have mine there for you to explore.
Pens or pencils that you like to get your ideas going
